NOTIFICATION OF ESSENTIAL MAINTENANCE WORKS A42 J14 to M1 Electrical (Finger Farm)

NOTIFICATION OF ESSENTIAL MAINTENANCE WORKS A42 J14 to M1 Electrical (Finger Farm)

I am writing to let you know that we will be carrying out essential electrical works on the A42 between Junction 14 and M1 Junction 23a – Donnington Services.

During the scheme of work, we will;

• Replace end of life street lighting equipment including columns and lanterns
• Replace feeder pillars, ducting, road crossings and cables
• Replace existing road signage. Once completed, all road users will benefit from improved road safety and lighting.

When will the work take place?
Work is due to star on 1st November 2024 and is scheduled for completion by the end of beginning of December 2024. Please note that all our planned roadworks may be subject to change due to weather conditions or unforeseen circumstances.

How will the work of traffic affect traffic?
To keep our programme for these works as short as possible and minimise disruption to local community, residents, businesses and road users, we are predominantly working under lane closures for this works to avoid total closures bringing in diversion routes. There are however some total closures planned between 28/10/24 – 11/11/24.

We will be working between the hours of 20:00 to 5:00, Monday to Friday.

During all road closures we will put in place fully signed diversion routes which have been agreed with Local Authorities for this important safety improvement work. All carriageways will be open as usual outside our working hours.

No HGV'S will be granted access during restricted times, HGV'S will need to follow the diversion in place.

How will the work affect businesses and residents?
We will make sure that access to businesses and residences is maintained wherever possible. We apologies for any inconvenience caused and will do our very best to complete the work as quickly as possible, keeping disturbances and noise to a minimum.
